150kW Vermont Community Solar project in North Springfield providing electricity to 31 businesses and residences since July 2014.

Soveren Solar’s first mixed commercial and residential Vermont Community Solar project. Built in the spring of 2014 and commissioned in early July of the same year, this project provides power to 31 businesses and residences in the Green Mountain Power territory. Located in an industrial park in North Springfield, VT this array has beautiful southern exposure and little to no disturbance during the year. As a pilot project with both commercial and residential participants, there has been overwhelming positive feedback. One participant says:

“My experience in joining the North Springfield Community Solar Farm has been positive & rewarding from start to finish. Throughout, I found my dealings with Peter Thurrell & Anna Bowler of Soveren Solar, and in turn with Darleen Phelps of Green Mountain Power informative, cordial and satisfactory. Apart from the financial incentives inherent in investing in a Vermont Solar Community Farm, my wife and I feel strongly that we are doing the correct thing for the world, our society, local community and our children and grandchildren. We wholly support the idea and reality of Vermont Community Solar!” –Mark Williams, Vermont Community Solar participant
