Minnesota gives approval for $250 million solar energy project

On Thursday May 28th, Minnesota regulators approved the installation of ground mounted solar panels at 21 sites throughout the state. “It is by far the largest solar project approved in Minnesota, and in one sweep increases the state’s solar output sevenfold.” The solar project, of Geronimo Energy, was victorious in out-bidding natural gas competitors. The company also stated that they will plant bee-friendly native plants around the panels. Geronimo is aiming for completion of the project in 2016. Selling out already!

Construction is again underway in Townshend on another Vermont Community Solar project. Over the winter we drummed up enough interest and support that we are happy to announce this project is already selling out! We could not do this without our local community support. This includes our invaluable Soveren Team that go above and beyond to make these projects possible, our participants who are willing to take a chance on our unique program, and the good old fashioned word of mouth buzz that keeps the wheels turning in any small VT business. We are blessed to be able to continue this work for another installation season. There are many irons in the fire and we are continuously working towards a cleaner, more resilient Vermont. If you have any questions about what we are doing at Soveren or any of our up coming projects, please contact us at info(at)soverensolar(dot)com or use the Contact page. You can also call and talk to a real person at (802) 869-2500. Happy May day!  ...

Reserve your panels before Christmas!

14th November, 1014 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Vermont Community Solar Putney, VT   Vermont utilities pay a premium for clean energy. After December 31st this premium is going down 2cents per kWh. Because of this, photovoltaic (PV) panels purchased this year will produce about 10% more solar credit than panels purchased in 2015. Vermont Community Solar is a new project developed by a Putney based solar installation company Soveren Solar. This project allows anyone to buy PV Panels in a solar array and receive credit on their Green Mountain Power bill. A perfect site or a south-facing roof is no longer necessary to enjoy the benefits of solar energy. Soveren Solar will preserve the higher rate of return for people who have paid in full and signed up to participate in a Vermont Community Solar project by December 25th. This is a perfect opportunity to get in under the wire and preserve a higher rate of return for your PV purchase. Since 2010, Soveren Solar has been installing PV in southern VT with a recent focus on community Solar. Through Vermont Community Solar, over 100 more households and business are using solar power this year.   For more information, call 802-869-2500 or e-mail...
